On April 2nd, 2015 the Bond U20 Bowling Team competed at the Small Schools Bowling Tournament. The team finished 1st. This is the first championship banner the Bond Secondary has ever won in any sport! The team showed great teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Hareesh was named the top bowler and Mr. Boldt won the teacher’s tournament for the third straight year. Great work bowlers!

  Bond Academy Annual Chess Competition
  This year 62 students joined our annual chess club (Montessori to Grade 8) and played a huge round-robin tournament after many stalemates, playing teachers, playing each other, playing high school students. It was a great way to put in the winter months, listening to Vivaldi, Sarah Brightman, and Bach.
  Bond Show Choir Contests
  On April 10th, Bond Academy’s Show Choir team, “The Dynamites,” competed in the National Show Choir Competition. The team gave a strong performance, displaying sharp dance movements, lots of smiles and articulating their words -- all while singing and dancing to five energetic and challenging pieces. The coaches, Ms Harvey and Ms Cathcart, were very proud of Bond’s performance and they look forward to another great seasons next year!
  Third Annual Bond Karaoke Competition
  The Third Bond Karaoke competition occurred on April 14th at the Bond campus. For us, it was beyond a competition. Music has no boundaries. It keeps students and teachers from different contexts connected. Students performed songs in various genres and languages. Everyone enjoyed this vocal feast. This activity provides bonding between students and students, and students and teachers.
  The University of Waterloo Euclid Contest
  On April 15th, Bond students took part in the University of Waterloo Euclid Contest. Last year, our school ranked 68th in the team competition out of 1400 schools in Canada. Seventeen of our 29 students who participated scored in the top 25% and received certificates from the University of Waterloo. Let's see how they do this year!
  Grade 11/12 European Trip Presentation
  On April 16th, G11 & G12 students got an European Trip prensentation. This trip will happen during March break in 2016. As the presenter said: "You need to go out in order to open up your eyes. " Alexander and Michael took the trip last year so they came up and shared their experience with other students. Sounded great!
  Grade 12 Science Center Trip
  On April 16th, Ms Samuel accompanied her Grade 12 students to the Ontario Science Centre. In the morning, students visited thematic exhibitions, some of which allowed them to participate “hands on” in mock-ups of operating and other things. In the afternoon, they attended a chemistry session and participated in some interesting experiments. The excursion not only provided the students with a fun and enjoyable experience but it also served to expand their knowledge of science.
