On the evening of December 11th, it was crowded at the Bond Academy campus for the annual 2015 Holiday Concerts. All the classes from Montessori to Grade 8 participated as well as our Cheer Team and our Band and Choir. The students performed a variety of challenging vocal and instrumental pieces. This was definitely a night nobody wanted to miss.

  Bond Photography Club Workshop: Exposure
  On Wednesday, December 2nd, the Bond Photography Club had their first workshop this semester. In order to help students understand more about the differences among the options of shutter speed, Mr. Quigley invited club members to try to take photos with different shutter speeds together. “The pictures turned out so differently!” said club members, “It was surprising to see the different effects of using different shutter speeds.”
  Bond Joined SSAF U20 Boys Indoor Soccer Tournament
  On December 3rd, our Bond Secondary students, together with 12 other schools, participated in the SSAF U20 Boys Indoor Soccer Tournament. “This is my third year coaching them. Overall, we have improved this year. ” said Phil Davies, a High School Teacher and the Soccer Coach at Bond. “This team had a great attitude, and really came together as a team.”
  Fun Pajama Day at Bond
  Have you ever wished to wear your pajamas to school just like the people who work at home? Students recently had this opportunity at Bond! On December 9th, students at Bond actually wore their pajamas to school in order to participate in the Project Christmas Cheer organized by Grade 12 students from the Bond Business class.
  Bond Grade 5 Students’ Trip to ROM
  On December 11th, the Bond students from Grade 5 took a trip to the Royal Ontario Museum. The purpose of the trip was to encourage students to complete their research writing assignment. The students also had the opportunity to join a guided session of “Pompeii: In the Shadow of the Volcano”. They learned about the city and the people of Pompeii, as well as the Mount Vesuvius volcano.
  Bond Senior Choir Performed for Senior’s Homes
  As the holidays are on their way, Bond Academy Choir continues one of its annual holiday traditions – visiting Senior’s Homes. On December 14th and 15th, 18 members of the Bond Senior Choir, together with their teachers Ms. Laura Harvey and Ms. Teri Cathcart, visited the Scarborough Retirement Centre and Craiglee Nursing Home.
  Bond Christmas Cheer Drive Helped Local Women’s Shelter
  On December 15th, the Bond Christmas Cheer Drive ended successfully. The Grade 12 students at Bond, together with their teacher Kelly Karim, helped deliver all the items to the local Women’s Shelter. Bond thanks everyone for their personal contributions, class contributions and parental support. Without all your help, this would not have been possible. It truly was the magic that is Christmas!
  Bond Junior Choir Performs at Local Seniors’ Homes
  With Christmas just around the corner, Bond Academy continues one of its annual holiday traditions – visiting residents in local seniors’ homes. On December 16th, members of the Bond Junior Choir visited Alexis Lodge in Scarborough, together with their teachers Ms Laura Harvey and Ms Lisa Balm.
