Bond’s Trip to Camp Wanakita

On October 12th to 14th, the Grade 6 to 8 students at Bond enjoyed their annual camping trip to YMCA Wanakita Camp in Haliburton County. The lead teacher of this camping trip, Mr. Poulin, mentioned that this year was the 11th year for Bond to organize the Grade 6 to 8 students to have a trip to Camp Wanakita, and everyone has been looking forward to this exciting trip.

  Bond’s First U20 Frisbee Team Went to Tournament
  On September 28th, Bond’s first-ever U20 Frisbee Team went to Aurora to compete in the SSAF U20 Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. “We’ve been thinking about forming a Frisbee team for a while, and this year we’ve had enough athletic students who are interested in this sport.” said Ryan Quigley, one of the Frisbee Coaches and a Secondary Teacher at Bond.
  Bond’s Grade 9 Trip to Toronto Botanical Gardens
  On September 28th, both classes of Bond’s Grade 9 students had a field trip to Toronto Botanical Gardens with their teachers Mr. Jacob and Mrs. Samuel. The students got an opportunity to tour the Toronto Botanical Gardens (TBG), the building, and the creek nearby. “We decided to take our grade 9 students on this trip to help them understand the impact of humans on the environment.”
  Fun Shoes & Socks Day at Bond
  On September 30th, Bond Business Leadership Class kicked off the first dress down day of the year, and used the theme of having fun with shoes and socks. The big idea was to capture how the shoe revaled the identity of the students and staff at Bond. Check out the collection! Which one is your favorite?
  Bond Tradition: Annual Terry Fox Run
  On October 3rd, students and teachers at Bond participated together in one of our annual traditions: The Terry Fox Run. “What Terry Fox did was a miracle.” said Royal Carney, Athletics Director at Bond. “All the Bond students and staff ran or walked through this neighborhood in Scarborough, to contribute to the Marathon of Hope. The route is 2.5 km in total, and it is around our local community.”
  Bond’s 2016 Teambuilding Day
  On October 4th, the Grades 7 to 10 students at Bond gathered on campus and had our third teambuilding day together. “This is one of Bond’s annual traditions. We’ve been trying to create a closer relationship between our Elementary and Secondary students at Bond. During this event, we encourage everyone to work together as a community.”
  Bond Wins the Withrow Cup Cross Country!
  On October 6th, 2016, Bond Academy’s Grades 1 to 8 students participated in the Withrow Cup Cross Country meet. Bond’s Cross Country team achieved the top overall standing and won the Withrow Cup again — for the fourth year in a row! “We had 55 students participate in the event this year. Our team did really well! ”
  Bond Attended 2016 Toronto Private School Expo
  On October 15th, Bond, as one of Toronto’s leading private schools, exhibited at the Toronto Private School Expo with 70 other schools at Roy Thomson Hall. The Expo has been organized by Our Kids Media for the past 13 years. During the Expo, the education experts at Bond answered all the questions that parents had regarding how to choose a school and what the issues to consider.
  Bond Competed in the SSAF Cross Country Championship

  Bond U20 Flag Football Got the Best Results in 2016 Tournament
  On October 25th, Bond competed in the 2016 Under-20-year-old Flag Football Tournament at Fieldstone Day School. This year, Bond played in the U20 Flag Football semi-finals, and won third place. “We had some new players on the team, and all the team members showed great commitment during the games this year. ”
